The 2004 opening ceremony in Athens had no hidden agendas and honoured the athletes. I hope Los Angeles in 2028 will avoid repeating the same mistake of the current Olympic ceremony and refrain from turning the opening of the 2028 Olympics into a decadent circus. Let's strive for a more meaningful / authentic celebration that truly honours the ideals of the Olympics and its athletes.
