Perspective - A placement to Soph, with the help of PAC et al is a slice of IVZ given out at a certain valuation. It's just easier than finding a cornerstone investor.
But then,@Gharp If IVZ placed XY million of shares @$XX per share to ABC pty Ltd based in say, Saudi Arabia or Canada, the new investor might request a board seat and wield some influence on the decision making or direction of the company something management might not be prepared for at this stage.
