An alternative model often presented by hydrocarbon PVT analyst is that the whole of Mukuyu may have been filled with understated oil to begin with, then a gas charge, followed by a more mature gas charge transforms the oil into volatile oil. A succession of gas charges over time (even up to current time) would likely change the volatile oil into retrograde gas condensate, and as the process continues the CGR would become leaner and leaner until eventually it becomes a dry gas (methane only). The data indicates that the layer CGRs are progressively leaner with depth, so could that be explained by having successive gas charges from deep in the structure, which have had a grading effect on the gas richness?
