I imagine the president wants to push the ON switch for the big drilling machine, he also
wants to know if they can arrange for a big flame to come out of the top of the tower
I had to laugh when Scott said in the fireside chat, they are running a 'dry site', I thought to
myself, that's probably a good idea, as long as its not a dry hole.
The other thing I found amusing was when Scott said, when they done drilling, they will seal
the hole and move on to the next site and come back later for appraisals. Now you gotta respect
this is Africa, you come back in a few months and there's nothing there, they've carried everything
away, brick by brick, stone by stone, building a better Zimbabwe, somewhere else. I imagine the site
manager coming back, phones Scott, the GPS says the site is here, and there's the trees we used
as goal posts when we played football, but there's nothing here.
The alternative is they get back, and there is people living on the site. I imagine the squatters leader will say
we found this site abandoned. We moved in, it's a very safe environment for our kids, it has an electric fence,
lights, gas, water. There's a new tarred road that goes by not far from there. I know my rights, you've got to
take me to court to have me evicted.
I joke with a smiley face bcos Scott is from Zimbabwe, he knows what is what, Dr Lake has worked many,
many years on numerous successful projects in Africa. They know how to handle their business. The
