I note that one of the causes of delay is the failure of measurement while drilling (MWD) tools. My primitive understanding of these tools are that they send information up the well bore via pulses in the drilling mud or through the drill pipe. If the tool chosen relies on sending pulses through the mud, a cause of erroneous / failed readings occurs when gas is encountered because it distorts the time it takes to receive the signal. That sounds like a champagne problem. (glass is half full…which tastes better). Enjoy some positive thoughts for your Friday
