When you produce green energy at big losses it has to be covered by government subsidies and/or the profits of real (profitable) businesses but everyone (society) becomes poorer.
Real manufacturing (that is production of food and services to provide living) becomes squeezed out of existence.

Major live saving stuff like having electricity to heat homes in blizzards or air conditioning in heat waves becomes rationed "to save the grid".
