I am expecting most zones to contain gas condensate rather than oil. Gas is considered "green" in many countries and I believe it is the right way forward for southern Africa.
In south Africa the coal fired power stations are nearing end of life and having electricity supply derived from natural gas is both a low carbon solution and the fastest solution for satisfying the energy demand.
Nuclear power would take 15-20 years to plan and install, geothermal would require many more wells and would not satisfy the demand soon enough.
Oil is a valuable resource, for example, it is required for the manufacture of textiles, plastics, petrochemicals, agricultural produce, medicines, bitumen etc.
