Re the commentary re renewables v fossil fuels including gas, Aust only hold less than 1% of known reserves as shown on this chart. With the reduction in oil production mainly in the Middle East and Russia, it demonstrates how reliant the world is on gas as a fuel source. I think there maybe a long way to go before renewables are in a position to make any worthwhile dent in the usage of gas in the world. It is essential that gas producers reduce their carbon footprint but to think gas can be replaced as a key source of power, transportation and industrial use any time in the foreseeable future is not likely or achievable in my humble opinion.
