More like healthy conjecture. Beats reading "capital raise" ad-nausea.

Fail to see why the CEO of Africa's largest producer Sonatrach ($60bn in revenue 2022) would attend a meeting with Zimbabwean officials merely to discuss low-key training of local Zimbabweans in the petroleum industry.

Zimbabwe and Algeria actually have a lasting relationship and Algeria used to supply Zimbabwe with gas and oil. In fact, we can go back to 2009 when Sonatrach stated they were interested in investment opportunities in Zimbabwe. The recent MOU has merely refreshed this relationship and I wouldn't bet against Zimbabwean officials discussing the exploration activity of Invictus Energy with their Algerian counterparts. The recent comments from the Algerian Ambassador adds weight. It's hardly wild speculation.

If we're going to get a partner, it's not going to be an EU, US or UK headquartered company simply due to the realities of existing sanctions. Look at how much Total Energies had to write-off asset wise in Russia due to sanctions.
