Heres my #1 JV pick Sasol popping up in the news again... I wonder where they can possibly find a big long term gas source in the region that's ripe for development with nearby infrastructure...
In my view IVZ could go for 2 projects as soon as possible:
- Gas to electricity plant. IVZ own the upstream, JV partner pays for the surface facility and also prepayments on the offtake for IVZ to drill and connect 2 development wells. Offtake agreement to have a pricing mechanism for both to share upside and downsides in gas/electricity price in the region.
- Gas supply to Zimbabwe businesses and mostly to South Africa. Sasol is the obvious partner. They can pay to build the surface facilities in exchange for the gas offtake and have pockets deep enough to get this going with a bunch of wells.
