40% or 55-60% means absolutely nothing.
The production share is based on a sliding scale of PROFIT HYDROCARBONS.
Its based on a R factor.
Basically it means that the gov share at the start will be low and later on will be higher once all the costs have been recouped.
Stating any % is folly unless you understand the above.
Below is the R ratio from a Mozambique PSA.
So an R ratio of less than 1 and gov get 15% company 85%
Ratio of 2.5 or greater Gov get 60% company gets 40%.
But remember that % is of profit oil NOT % of all oil produced.
