I’ve been re-reading some of the info around the Mobil data from the 90’s. They had over 30,000sq km of ground at the time which included not only the Cabora Bassa basin, but also the Mid-Zambezi and Mana Pools basins. Those were not as well regarded due to Cabora Bassa having a much thicker Upper Karoo section and organic-rich lacustrine section which weren’t present in the other basins.
I wonder if Scott has taken another look at Mana Pools and Mid-Zambezi to see whether it’s worth pegging that ground. Even if they look inferior on 30 year old seismic the real estate could become very valuable given any success at Cabora Bassa as well as Recon’s recent results. They are all part of the East Africa rift system.
