I've been thinking about this too but if they are in a sampling program, I do not think theh technically have to halt or announce immediately and can wait to announce after the sampling program is complete.

using the logic that a halt or ann is required for any discovery immediately, almost every mining company would be in breach of this rule.

example: if a lithium miner discovers lithium in one sample/intercept during analysis after a drilling campaign, they do not have to immediately halt or ann - they can (and almost always do) wait until they have analysed all samples/intercepts before an ann
