The other exception to cross trades which @ReadOnly99 mentioned is at market open and close (or pre-open, if there's an announcement). Then all the trades will go through at the open or close price but people can queue-jump by putting their buy orders in at a higher level or sell orders at a lower level. That can create confusion for some as there may be a swag of stock traded at open/close but only a few from the opening/closing price line. If that makes sense.
