it’s not a major commitment being non exec director.
the upside is he can view how a peer company operates along with its key personnel.
i think there is more upside for IVZ holders than downside.
SM most likely has a business mentor/ even IVZ chair who could have suggested he should broaden his perspective and business view.
increasing his business connections is good … he is clearly well skilled technically … this will help him further develop corporate skills.
