Each share is independent. Buying new shares in the same account is not going to reset the timing of any cgt discount for existing shares. Also when you sell you can choose the ones you sell (done during tax return prep).
So if you have 10 shares that have the cgt discount and buy 5 more, you can sell that 5 in 3 months time and the cgt discount on the original 10 is still there. Or you can choose to sell 5 of the original 10 and apply the discount.
