@gasoroil .... I suggest you go an speak to a good accountant to get the facts correct, and if your accountant says it's when the money changes hand and not the contract date, then change accountants..
BTW my daughter is a chartered accountant working for a major accounting firm and we have discussed this before. It's amazing how many people think like you do, but never check the facts, she has clients that make this mistake all the time..
