Yes, he said the higher mud weight were for upper sections as they seemed over pressured. However regardless, they mud weight are chosen to control the well and stop the kicks happening. The lower mud weight in the lower sections is becuase a lower mud weight is required. I would not read to much into the lack of kicks a this point of time. They either mean there is no gas, or there is gas and they mud weight is correct.
