Wolfgang, if you are investing the same amount ($11k), then you are putting the same capital 'at risk'.
If IVZ is at $1 and then drops to 40c, then by your calculation above you would be down 60% ($60k) on the heads, but 75% ($150k) on the oppies.
So I think buying the oppies give you higher leverage, but higher risk comes with it.
Just my opinion though.
