just before everyone chastises charting without the inherent understand of how it works.

it's statistical probability on sum of outcomes. i.e a good trader might only win 40-60% of the time. if they make bigger wins than they do loses you can make a tidy living from this.

Actual profits are then simply a function of number of trades and bankroll.

This is the idea of how trading works, not making 80-90% of accurate calls.

I use longer term timeframes like monthly and weekly to time entries and free-carry positions. I don't get them right all the time in fact rarely get the tops and bottoms exactly right. i do however make better informed decisions about where a top or a bottom is and can sense check a decision against what I know to be occurring fundamentally.
