Rare Earth Permanent Magnet Sector Rises, Chinese Rare Earth Surges 9%: On February 7, the rare earth permanent magnet sector surged in the early trading session, with Chinese rare earths rising by 9%. Guangsheng Nonferrous, Shenghe Resources, China Baotou, and Zhenghai Magnetic Materials quickly followed the upward trend. On the news front, the Ministry of Industry and Information Technology and the Ministry of Natural Resources issued the first batch of total control indicators for rare earth mining, smelting, and separation for 2024, at 135,000 tons and 127,000 tons respectively. The year-on-year growth rates of the first batch of separation indicators are 20% and 18% respectively; this year's mining and smelting indicators growth rates are lower than in previous years.
