1) You need at least 1,000 ppm of Ce free RE's to even look like a mine
2) True Ionic Clays have very low percentages of Ce and can be extracted by washing in a Ph4 solution, that is not the case at Makuuta.
3) Clays are basically impermeable, and require agitation in the washing process ~ heap leaching is very inefficient
4) When you use Ph's lower than 3 (Makuuta 2) you also collect the Radionuclides and other metal ions which report to the pregnant liquor stream, which then have to be selectively precipitated before being disposed of in lined tailings dams.

Before even thinking about shipping any product to Belfast, you have to at least break even at the mine site, With an OPEX of US$15 you need to recover at least 300gms of NdPr/tonne mined; That is never going to happen when your NdPr head grade is at best 192ppm with a recovery below 40%.

IMO the US$120M CAPEX required for Makuuta would be much better employed in developing Belfast

We know that China, that's why we have to wait for the updated FS at Makuutu, because this time we have real data in Makuutu conditions not Laboratory conditions, hopefully we will see the update data, there's a big difference between Laboratory Conditions to Demonstration Plant Conditions
