Shorting firms like JCapital do their work on behalf of big investment houses (God forbid they do something that catches those big boys by surprise). Unfortunately those same big investments house like Goldman Sucks and JP Morgan walk all over the ASX. They practically own the ASX.
Nothing will happen. Lake might sue, but it will be settled out of court with a confidential settlement. Nobody will go to jail.
