You also ignore the significance of the DoJ investigation of Jan 6th, it is not just about the attack on the capitol. It's about a whole lot of other things in the lead up to Jan 6th that where attempts to over turn the legitimate result of the 2020 election.
The democracy of the USA is at stake, it was the first time in history that crimes where committed in an attempt to over over turn the legitimate result of an election. Of course we know that Trump was the main figure behind it and to prevent it ever happening again he needs to be held accountable
