Hopefully a moderate politician wins after the disaster like what happened when Lyndon Johnson and Richard Nixon were elected after the Assassination of President Kennedy, Martin Luther King Jnr, Robert Kennedy and the violence at the Democratic convention in Chicago in those times.

america usually has more mature responses to anarchy just see the last Presidential election as a case in point.

a moderate not an extreme response is needed IMHO, calm and measured not shrill and anxious.
