Recently PM Ardern inserted her Govt into the middle of a land dispute near Auckland Airport involving a project by Fletchers to build 480 houses on land now claimed by various Maori factions.

Now she has made "unlimited taxpayer funded Govt money" front and centre in this dispute.

This left inclined article gives an idea of the tangled mess where she might hope to make everybody happy.

If Govt does somehow buy the housing project back off Fletchers it will create another powerful legal precedent that says nobody's land is safe.

She has leapt into the middle of a dispute with no solution in sight.
