You could be on the money Tag, I suspect the demo in shopping centres, then go home, jump online and subscribe for you new EV, making a montly payment.
But the context of my post, you wont have a choice between an ICE and EV's in 5 years, and subsidies for EV's will eventually be removed and replaced with penalties for driving an ICE.
This would happen faster in say China, EUR, UK, etc, expecting Oz will be 3 years behind those countries. Therefore, Oz will probably be introducing subsidies at a time when said other countries are moving to an ICE penalty mandate.
