Whilst researching the life of lithium-ion batteries, I found some enlightening news (old to some of the wiser ones on HC) re: the charging station to vehicle.........
A start up in Estonia called Skeleton Technologies, has developed a wound graphene (carbon based) ultra-capacitors that's rated in megawatts per second. This firm is testing capacitor packs for inertial energy storage and has flagged the same ultra-capacitors for  high discharging to lithium-ion EV battery packs. Just think, charging your EV to 80% in as much time as you could fill a petrol tank. It's hard to believe that with this technology around the corner that the internal combustion engine will be still dominant inside 10 years. Will miss the V8 .
These ultra-capacitors are used in the high energy vehicle jump starters that are on the market at the moment although will be much more efficient with higher energy density.
Ultra-capacitors (for power) coupled with LI batteries (for range) look like the future for EVs so IMO, lithium-ion is here to stay (for a while we hope) .

And for something else to consider although not directly related to lithium nor PLS, an offshore wind farm in Victoria. Bring it ON !! and let's see the death of the coal fired power station sooner than later.
