I don't agree. A bank probably knows its net profit, or a fair idea of it, days or longer before it's released to the market, yet trading continues. Same situation. The bank has information that's market sensitive but doesn't tell the market as soon as it knows it. Obviously it has to release it reasonably quickly, but the most important thing is that everyone gets the information at the same time, not that the company releases information as soon as it receives it.
