Lyon went very close to signing with the Titans two years ago. It was all but a done deal until he pulled out at the last minute.
He has been the heart and soul of Manly for quite a few years now. They might like to reward him for his service by letting him take up an offer to play for the Titans. Letting Idris go should free up a lot of cash to pay for a quality player.
He is the type of player that would bring out the very best in Mead, Gordon and Zillman.
The Titans also went very close to signing Cameron Smith and Cooper Cronk as well. It was around the time when they were in trouble over the Centre of Excellence which nearly dragged them under. That all seems to be sorted now that Bond Uni have bought it.
With or without Lyon, I am looking forward to a good year. Last year they showed that they could match it with any of the top teams.
Greg Bird and Nate Myles have resurrected their careers at the Titans. Look for both of them having a very good year.
