You would think a new CEO would have the wisdom to not back himself into a corner off his first comment to market.If you prompt your shareholders for a positive Christmas period, one would think that, come January, your credibility is in the toilet if nothing eventuates.
Unless trying to push price up ahead of a CR, I can't see any reason why a CEO would make such comments that could be proven to be false in a matter of weeks.
As such I back Gower in to deliver. Anything else would be world record speed loss of credibility for a new CEO. Anyone of moderate competence and foresight could avoid that, nevermind someone with the capabilities to land a CEO gig in their specialised industry.
You would think a new CEO would have the wisdom to not back...
