When you are in charge of/running something, you generally get paid big dollars, much more than the cleaner. Those big dollars are to manage/run the show correctly. Hirdy failed dismally and also failed to accept responsibility for his failure.

The buck stops at the top, Hirdy should have been moved on when all the others left

Champion player and potentially may have been a great coach. All that went out the window when this saga occurred when he was in a position of great responsibility and it all happened right under his nose.

Nothing to discuss here, Essendon will progress from now on, I hope the players can get their situation resolved, especially those who were young and would have just done what they were told.
