Out of interest, which oil ETF(s) are you referring to?
ASX.OOO (Beta shares Crude Oil ETF) I think is the only one listed on ASX and it is well and truly down over the last few years.
Mid 2014 = $57
Today = $14
Depends when you compare from of course (it was $13 in Jan 2016, so marginally up since then).
And, I'm not entirely sure its a valid benchmark anyway. FAR is an explorer, for the time being anyway......
I prefer to compare FAR's SP performance to my other Oilers (e.g. STO and SEA) which have performed disastrously since I bought in. But even those are probably not really comparable - producers v explorers.
Whatever way you look at it, the overall sector has had a terrible couple of years (thank you drbrooks - Capt. obvious?)
