for the benifit of others,its not just about them being whales or food for Japaneses tables (which they dont eat,but stockpile because Japanese tastes have changed and the youth would rather have a McDonalds)They have even tried giving it away to school lunch rooms in a desparate attempt to generate interest
its about killing animals in a protected sanctuary recognised by the worlds whaling authority which Japan itself is a member off,so to get around the laws protecting these animals they claim its research. incidently they have only published one paper informing us that whales eat grill
imagine the effect if someone in a Safari suit walked into Taronga zoo with a gun and started shooting Tigers.
Its not hunting,and they have wiped out everything within their own shores and refuse to loose face by backing down. Its the typical Japanese culture a la WW11
