This visit is interesting indeed. Everyone's been caught up by the Chinese and Indians in their quest for oil with Japan being overlooked in recent times. It's worth noting that IIRC, they are still the world's third largest consumer of oil behind the US and Chinese. Maybe they are sizing up takover opportunities as well as exploration opportunities :)
