Japan is closing worn out inefficient power stations for the reason they are not worth keeping

The new coal fired power stations are on a par with LPG regarding emissions and they are just so much more efficient

Japan has only a couple of options for power and they are gas and coal and coal is cheaper than gas, or get more nuclear plants
Obviously nuclear is hard to get public approval in Japan so they will IMHO be compelled to continue with new coal plants

This has nothing to do with changing over to renewables that operate for a few hours a day so don't wave the flag on that old chestnut
