Sometime ago I suggested that the Japanese should turn off all their reactors, so the rest of the world could sit back and take note. . . . . . of how an industrialised nation could replace 30% of baseload power with wind turbines and solar.

Shock and horror, it turns out that rather than become clean and green . . . . . they import vast amounts of coal, fuel oil and gas to increase the pollution, whilst causing their current account to head in the wrong direction at an accelerated pace.
