The current climate of politics will not allow nuclear anything the way I see it, head in sand stance. As for the use of hy-torque for doing up bolts under engines, not enough room to utilise this equipment. Trust me when I say confined spaces, just getting hand and arm in is all you can manage at times. The engines on Collins are Swedish, not very good, and should have been a tried and tested other brand, however, it will be interesting with what they end up with.
These diesels are a straight out charging up battery job, so the old style of sub you can charge batteries or engage coupling and get direct drive to propellor from the diesel. If Collins has flat batteries it goes nowhere, and this has happened not far from Darwin, and it just made it back to port.
