I went along with about 35 others on the bus plus a few cars. All up I reckon there were about 50 or so at the offical opening. Reporters from the ABC and the local newspaper the Kalgoorlie Miner were there.
Our Chairman Geoff Greenhill spoke well and then the Minister for Mines Bill Johnston spoke. He congratulated Beacon and the team in bringing this project together in near record time to be a producer. You could tell he was proud of the achievement that he said was a sign of the mines department working efficiently to get through all the approvals needed. I believe it had a little more to do with our directors being so experienced and hands on and pushing this forward with all haste.
The plaque was revealed and then everyone went back to camp for a BBQ lunch.
The mining was in full swing and it looked like a well oiled machine.
Exciting times ahead!
