If in 2001 his licence was withdrawn by New York health officials how did he get into Australia to practice?

"In 2003, Patel moved to the position of Director of Surgery at the Bundaberg Base Hospital where he was employed by Queensland Health (the state government department of health in Queensland) under an "area of need" program where overseas trained doctors are employed in predominantly regional understaffed areas. This was undertaken without due diligence regarding his qualifications and experience. He was appointed despite having no specialist surgical qualifications."

"Patel is linked to at least 87 deaths amongst the 1,202 patients he treated between 2003 and early 2005. 30 patients died while under his care in Bundaberg."

"Patel departed Australia for Portland, Oregon using a business-class air fare paid for by Queensland Health. His passport had not been withheld."

Was Patel a 'victim' of what those employing him allowed?
May the QLD Health should be on trial also.

But it's amazing how lawyers can have positive outcomes for their clients...hey. Just my observation...but the papers are full of it everyday. Just because a court finds you innocent it doesn't mean you are. It's a battle of the dotting and crossing of letters.

    So...has he a licence to operate...after all...he is innocent.
I hope the lawyers got free lifetime treatment.
