Re ban on smartphones in NSW its not a case of "when"...........

"Public primary schools will enforce a mobile phone ban from next year as part of the New South Wales Government's plan to reduce online bullying and unnecessary distraction" (see last link to ABC news article).

Question is do other states follow........does the ban become Aus wide....?

Checkout the Aus bureau of stat web site to find some data on numbers of primary school children attending or about to enter primary schools in NSW to get an idea on numbers.........i posted a while back on this subject and there was about 791,000 student attending NSW govt schools in 2017 and I'd say the proportion attending primary would be about or over 50%.

Not too sure on the distribution re primary vs. the pre and high schools for 2018 etc......but this link is for 2013 Aus wide data and I wouldn't imagine it has changed too drastically, probably growing slightly yr on yr btl. (See table 3.4 for break down and % etc).
