Sarcophagus, I am so sorry to see you have that complaint! What I expect is happening is that after the organism infected and got entrenched it sat there and now exudes enzymmes into your flesh and kills the flesh around the organism which the organism uses to grow. Because the flesh is dead your blood stream is no longer able to deliver antibiotics to the organism to kill it. The dying flesh would put a severe load on your systems. Getting a killing agent to the organism would be very difficult. I do not know what treatments are avaiable but surely surgery would have to be one possible solution.
