I have looked at length now for articles referring to Palomares and JEMSE.

I find stories of a visit to China to meet with potential funders for the 300MW photovoltaics and geothermal power project Joint Venture (with China Power, Shanghai Electric and Talesun).

I found a story relating to a visit to Italy where they met with a geothermal developer that had expressed interest in investing in Argentina

Then a visit to a local public/private JV to produce solar water heaters

I find articles reporting on meetings between LAC/SQM and JEMSE talking about 500m USD investment, 800 to 900 jobs during construction and 400 during normal operation.

In short I find lots of news articles about Palomares and JEMSE and they are all about green energy, foreign investment, and jobs. Plenty of media coverage.

I have yet to find one news report reporting the comments that pj refers to.

I invite pj to submit some relevant links to news stories or other sources. Otherwise I think we can conclude that this thread has been started on unsubtantiated "information" and consign it to the dustbin...
