that you tell us you have family relationships with Jews suggests to me you would know that whatever the schooling system in general Jews integrate with the societies in n which they live where they can. Where they experience discrimination that preference is disrupted.
like all communities they also seek out and connect most strongly with those with who they identify. So when I go to family gatherings where there are Jews and non Jews but all connected by birth or marriage the religion is irrelevant- what connects us is family. Not so very odd.
as far as I can tell it is not labelling criticism of Israel actions that is being called antisemitic it is the generalisation and the abuse towards Jews in general.
