@MirCat; ever since January 26th 1788 things which have characterised what's regard as 'Australian History' included the omissions [eg, massacres of First Nations Peoples, female experiences as recorded in their diaries], prejudice [eg, reporting on Chinese immigrants] and embellishment of all things British.
I support the curriculum inclusion of a compulsory subject like English including texts about the Holocaust, but the lack of balance as such choices apply to the suffering and losses of others including Russians, Chinese and Palestinians defines the directives from Australia's politicians to that end as deeply racist.
It's worth remembering that The Australian War Museum does NOT include a single display about British Colonial invasion of what were First Nations Peoples Lands.
