I do note however that some scholars are at odds this Bethlehem version and state that Jesus came from Nazareth.
-----------
Jesus was born in the Judean village of Bethlehem.Since there was another Bethlehem in the territory of Zebulun , the town in Judah was usually distinguished by reference to Ephrath, or by calling it “Bethlehem in Judah.”The earlier name of Bethlehem evidently was Ephrath (or, Ephrathah). Jacob buried Rachel “on the way to Ephrath, that is to say, Bethlehem.” (Gen 35:19).
Jesus lived most of his earthly life in Nazareth, along with his half brothers and half sisters. Both Joseph and Mary were residents of Nazareth when **riel announced the approaching birth of Jesus. Later, after their return from Egypt, they took up residence in Nazareth again.
