A interesting parallel exists between Jesus (Yeshua) and Buddha (Siddhartha). One was a Jew as the other was Hindu. But both can be seen as reformers who attempted to great simplify their respective religions and to make those religions the source of social change. Jesus sought to break the power of the Rabbi's as Buddha sought to break the power of the Brahmins.
