    There's only freedom of secular and individual rights because the church is losing the game (in Australia) and needs/wants more members.

    When religions have sufficient numbers and powers to control society, then your rights tend to disappear and you get smacked/exiled/tortured/killed if you don't toe the line.

    Anyway, given that God hasn't shown up for thousands of years to anyone anywhere when he presumably could solve the whole issue with a personal appearance, that Christianity today is massively different to Christianity 500/1000/2000 years ago, that Christianity is massively different in its different churches and over geographical locations, that humans are clearly just another animal, that science has uncovered a wealth of information that contradicts bible *teachings, that different religions are all believed in a similar way and contradict each-other, that gods in general tend to look like the particular group that made them up which suggests people made the gods rather than the other way around, and that the whole story is slap-in-the-face obviously a load of ridiculous hogwash - it's not even fun to argue about.

    And then if you did believe, you'd have to reconcile all the horrible things god supposedly does and allows.
