when you ride a bicycle, your energy, will and physical body do most of the work. however, faith also operates. if there is no faith in the bicycle (eg. fear the wheel will fall off) or in your self (eg. fear you are not fit enough) then the bicycle will not be ridden.
so Buddha has faith in harmless, concentration, wisdom and, most of all, in that natural force that purifies the mind from tormenting emotions, namely, the Nirvana element
as posted, Buddha has faith in letting go & non-desire, in that these states of mind will bring happiness
most people do not have faith in letting go & non-desire because they believe such things will not bring happiness
most people fear (rather than trust) letting go, non-desire & giving up clinging to things as 'me' & 'mine'
