Thus EWFF says in its current issue, out October 6:

“Primary wave 3 down began at the May 2 high. The stock market traced out a five-wave decline, down from this high, which constitute Intermediate wave 1. Last month EWFF identified the rally from August 9 as a counter-trend push. Given the overall profile, we’ve labeled it as minor wave 4, ending on August 31 (S&P) and September 1 (DJIA). Minor wave 5 began then, bringing both the DJIA and S&P to new lows. Short term, the stock market got deeply oversold on October 4, which is consistent with a low.

“In wave 2, stocks will undergo their largest upward retracement since the May 2 highs. Some of history’s biggest declines occur once an oversold condition is reached and prices are unable to sustain a bounce.”

That call looks OK over the last few days, ominously.
